Q: How could wearing Swiftwick socks change the way that your shoes fit?
A:Swiftwick socks fit a unique way from normal, run of the mill socks, even if those socks were purchased in a sport specific retail store. The compression provided in the foot bed fits so tightly against your skin that you may find out that you have been wearing shoes that were actually a half or full size too big if your socks were thick and bulky.
Q: Which socks do you recommend for Hockey?
A:Every athlete has hes/her preference in performance wear. One of the many positive comments, that we receive, is the fact that no matter what style you like all the socks stay up on your leg and in place on your foot. Some of our staff has played hockey their entire life and they prefer the TWELVE, as it is a longer sock. The compression of the sock helps with the circulation throughout the foot keeping your feet warm and comfortable. Can you believe that there are players out there wearing cotton socks in $200-$300 skates? Try the TWELVE or FOUR; your feet will thank you.
Q: Which socks do you recommend for golf?
A:Golfers, including more than 40 PGA professionals, are beginning to see Swiftwick socks not as apparel, but as an essential piece of equipment in their game. For warmer days on the course, golfers who are wearing shorts tend to prefer our no show or ankle height, or in Swiftwick speak, the Zero or One, in both the ASPIRE and PERFORMANCE lines. Golfers who are wearing long pants tend to prefer a longer cuff height, such as the Four or the Seven. During the cooler months, golfers are turning to our PURSUIT line for the added warmth and comfort that only Merino wool can provide. During the winter, many golfers also prefer our Olefin Arm Warmers to long sleeves for the compression and warmth value. Arm warmers, unlike long sleeves, can easily be taken off and stored when tee times are in the cool morning and the sun warms the course up an hour or two into the game.
Q: Which socks do you recommend for cycling?
A:We recommend higher cuff lengths in our PERFORMANCE, ASPIRE, and PURSUIT lines. Our Four and Seven lengths have found great popularity in the cycling community because of the unique ability of our compression socks to always stay snug and up on the leg without bunching down. The PERFORMANCE line is our original, tad-bit-thicker cycling style, while our ASPIRE line is our thinner, narrower style well suited for hot summer days. Our PURSUIT line is our Merino wool that is great for the trails or winter climates. All of our lines include our signature compression and linked-toe technology. The Twelve is our over the calf graduated compression sock that many cyclists are finding are great for performance and recovery. During the winter, many cyclists also prefer our Olefin Arm Warmers to long sleeves for the compression and warmth value. Arm warmers, unlike long sleeves, can easily be taken off and stored when long rides start in the cool morning and warm up an hour or two into the session.
Q: Which socks do you recommend for running?
A:The ASPIRE and the VIBE lines are our thinnest, narrowest, perfect-for-runners sock. They are very thin, very durable, and have our signature linked toe and compression. We recommend the lower cuts, such as the zero, one, and two for runners who like a shorter sock. We also recommend our top of the line Twelve, an above the calf graduated compression sock that many runners are finding provide numerous performance and recovery benefits. Our Pursuit Merino Wool line is also appreciated by many runners in the colder, sloppier winter time. During the winter, many runners also prefer our Olefin Arm Warmers to long sleeves for the compression and warmth value.
Q: Do you make Left and Right Specific Socks?
A:We do not. Our socks are only marked with the size on the bottom. Don’t worry if you thought that you had received two left socks! Those are indicating the size Large, not a sock for the left foot.
Q: What different heights of socks do you make?
A:A number in inches indicates our different cuff heights. For example, a Zero is a below the ankle, while a Four is four inches above the ankle. Zero- No Show One- Mid-Ankle Two- Above the ankle Four/Five- Lower Calf Seven- Mid Calf Twelve- Over the Calf
Q: Can you describe each of your different lines?
A:First of all, all of our lines contain some similar properties. All of our lines contain our signature compression, high needle count (144, 168, and 200 needle) and linked toe technology. Every single sock that we make has compression in the foot bed and all the way up the cuff. Our linked toe technology provides seamless, bunch-less construction in the toe for a blister free experience. Our Synthetic Lines ASPIRE- If Swiftwick claimed a masterpiece, the ASPIRE line would be our Mona Lisa. Perfect for narrow feet, the ASPIRE compression sock is constructed for unmatched comfort, moisture management and an optimal fit. It's thin and light for minimalist running shoes, tight cycling shoes and the form fit hockey skate or ski boot. We eliminated the toe seam using linked toe technology, which means no bunching in the toe box, no pinky toe torture, and no event that you can't finish due to blisters... This sock will directly influence your game. VIBE- Unique in the Swiftwick family, the VIBE line is a little more plush, and a lot more colorful. Using a half height terry loop throughout the foot bed, the VIBE offers a highly consistent, thicker feeling with linked toe construction and slightly less compression. To carry the color, it’s flat knit, super thin upper is smooth and snug. PERFORMANCE- A sock that doesn't wear out in a week of hard use? This is the firstborn, the tested, the beloved, the game changer, the elite, the original -- Swiftwick PERFORMANCE sock. This is not your cotton, chemically treated sock. This is your heart beat. This is the high expectation, ripping down the trail, running until your legs fail, attacking the field, playing your hardest...sock. Yes, it's that sock. Our Merino Wool Line PURSUIT- Ageless -- meaning never growing old, eternal, timeless. Constructed from Merino Wool, our PURSUIT line never goes out of style. Born from the same technology and spirit of our several synthetic lines except fused with the natural wicking and thermal properties of super fine, 36 micron Merino Wool from Australia, this is the only 200-needle compression wool sock on the market. Your feet deserve it. Our Custom Line VISION- The VISION line of compression socks is created to match YOUR vision. This is the colorful, limited production, made-to-order custom product everyone wants. It's a great reflection on your brand when athletes and consumers see it on the successful and durable platform of a Swiftwick sock. Our design team works with you, from brainstorming through production. Be a marketing genius and get your VISION out there. Examples here are typically not available for sale, except through our partners.

Q: Why Swiftwick?
A:Swiftwick socks are designed to perform. We put the right amount of cushion in the right zones to absorb impact where it is most frequently felt. From the “second skin” fit to the supple finish, you’ll feel the difference the moment you put them on. Our socks are knitted at 200 needles, the highest you’ll find in socks. The higher the needle, the tighter the knit. This high-gauge construction produces a softer, denser, more durable garment with outstanding graphic detail. Wear Swiftwick and you’ll buy fewer socks. It’s that simple! Our socks are made in the USA. Domestic production affords us improved quality control. We keep a close eye on the source of our materials and the integrity of our finished product.
Q: What is Olefin?
A:Olefin is a polymer synthetic fiber. It is manufactured under several different names, including some very well known such as Tyvek® by DuPont®, Thinsulate® by 3M® and Duraguard® by Kimberly-Clark®. There are several benefits of olefin. It is very tough and hard wearing, colorfast and stain resistant. The lightweight material dries quickly and wicks sweat and water from the skin. Materials made with olefin hold its shape extremely well, making it good for active use. Olefin is also highly resistant to deterioration from chemicals, perspiration, mildew and moisture. Olefin is environmentally “friendly” due to the few byproducts produced during manufacturing. Olefin is also easily recycled.
Q: Why should cyclists wear Swiftwick Performance Socks?
A: Cyclists punish their feet. Perhaps no other demographic of athlete endures the same pressure points or concentrated application of pain. The Chinese perfected a torture method based on this — cyclists apply it every time they ride. Multiply by several hours/miles, throw in dramatic temperature/humidity changes, and you can quickly see that to a cyclist, great socks = great ride.

That being said, SwiftWick (especially our Olefin socks with their low surface friction) are perfect for runners and triathletes, as well. Golfers are throwing out their cotton "mops" and we know several medical professionals who swear they'll never take socks for granted again.

Q: Which sock would be best for running?
A:We would recommend either the Olefin ZERO or the Olefin ONE socks for running. Both of these socks are made from a lightweight synthetic wicking material called Olefin. This sock will cling tightly to your foot and will prevent slippage inside the shoe, and at the same time help your feet breathe and stay dry while you are running. The cuff height is purely preference. A ZERO sock will come up just below the ankle, while the ONE sock (named for its one inch cuff) will sit just above the ankle. Both of these styles com in Black, White or Gray. Visit our store to browse our running socks.
Q: How should I wash my Swiftwick Socks?
A:Swiftwick socks can be washed with normally with the rest of your clothing. However, make sure that when you are drying them you put them in at low heat. High heat can cause the elasticity to melt and ruin an otherwise virtually indestructible pair of socks.

Consider washing them along with your other athletic gear on delicate to avoid mixing them up and mistakenly putting them through the drier on high. Also, consider that they are wicking in the first place. Hang them out to dry and watch our socks work their drying magic on their own!

Q: Why do I seem to only have left socks (L on the bottom)?
Swiftwick does not make left or right foot specific socks. The capital letter at the bottom of your sock indicates the size. S: small, M: medium, L: large, X (or XL): extra large.
Q: What are components of each line of socks?
A:Each line has different technology in specific areas of the product.
