George Chmiel has been hitting the pavement since September 11th as he makes his trek across the United States to end up at Ground Zero on November 11th. And why you ask? His mission is to pay homage to our Veterans and drive awareness of the serious issues they face upon returning home from the battlefield. These are our Heroes – the protectors and providers of our freedom – and it is our responsibility as Americans to honor their sacrifices by ensuring they have the proper medical care and necessary resources after experiencing the horrors of war.
For those in the Nashville area on October 23rd, you will have a special opportunity to do two miles of his journey with him!
Hundreds of runners will gather to join George Chmiel (the “Beastmode Runner”) as he finishes the last leg of his run into Nashville. George is running across the entire country in support of military families. In a sign of solidarity, participants will proceed down Belmont Boulevard (approximately 2 miles) crossing the finish line together on the campus of Belmont University.
At the conclusion of the run, influential leaders from our community will speak and honor our active duty military and veterans. A street festival will follow featuring live music, children’s activities, vendor booths and great food!
And don’t forget to mark your calendars for October 28th!
Join us for a benefit concert to support BeastMode for the Brave and Guardian for Heroes Foundation. We are honored that Christian recording artist the Newsboys will be headlining this concert.
