Run towards that pot of gold this St. Patty’s Day! Catch the luck of the Irish at these all-green races all over the country!

  1. Runnin’ of the Green Lucky 7k: Denver, Colorado
    March 13, 2016

Runnin of the Green is the largest 7K in the United States and has been a St. Patty’s day staple in Denver for 26 years. This family-friendly, charity race features the 7k and an untimed 2-mile run/walk. Runnin’ of the Green was voted “Race of the Year” twice by Colorado Runner Magazine and boats the best post-race party due to its live Irish music, Irish dancers and beer garden.

  2. Shamrock Shuffle: Harmony, PA
    March 19, 2016

Shuffle along the 5k, 1 mile, or half marathon course at the Shamrock Shuffle. This fun race boasts “crazy water stations,” green beer, keg stands and jello shots. There’s no better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Athletes have the option to run all three races, but beware! The half marathon course is one of the toughest in the tri-state area due to steep hills halfway through the race.

  3. Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Road Race: Holyoke, Massachusetts
    March 19, 2016

The Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Road Race is loved by all and dubbed as a “miniature Boston” by Olympian John Treacy. The certified 10K course is hilly until a little past halfway where it levels out. It is also lined by crowds each step of the way, so expect plenty of motivation to reach a PR. Runners and crowds empty into the second largest St. Patrick’s Day block party following the race.

  4. Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend: Virginia Beach, Virginia
    March 18-20, 2016

More than 30,000 people flock to Virginia Beach every year to get lucky at the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon weekend. This race hosts a full, half, 8K, and kids-only Leprechaun Dash, so there’s really something for everyone. Additionally,  the weekend features a “final mile” race for elementary students who have logged in 25.2 running miles in the weeks leading up to the race, and then they run the final mile at the event. Feeling extra lucky? Compete in all the races for an extra challenge.

  5. Muddy Leprechaun: Chillicothe, Ohio
    March 12, 2016

For all the trail runners out there, the Muddy Leprechaun is a 4-mile loop run through many different types of terrain in the Hopewell Mound Group National Historic Park. Live bagpipers encourage runners as they race through ground that was once inhabited by a civilization that gathered on the site over 2.000 years ago. Participants are encouraged to get dirty, as there will be prizes for the muddiest racer, as well as best St. Patrick’s Day costume.
