Chris Wilson was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 16, 1984. He played college golf at Northwestern University and won the Big Ten Championship with his collegiate team in 2006. He finished his career there seventh on Northwestern’s all-time stroke average list. In 2005, Wilson won the 99th Ohio Amateur Championship with a 10-under 278. Wilson has proven that he can play with the nation’s top competitors.
Of his performance at the 2006 Big Ten Championship, his head coach Pat Goss said, “That was one of the best rounds, if not the best round, of golf I’ve ever seen. The weather was tough, and he was able to control his golf ball in the wind and pick apart a golf course that proved too hard for the rest of the field. It was really impressive, and he made it look easy when he did it.”
He graduated in 2007 and began pursuing his professional golf career. Wilson played on the PGA TOUR in 2010 after earning his card at Qualifying School. His best finish that season was T-51 at the Valero Texas Open. Chris played on the Web.com Tour in 2012 and won his first tour event in August of that year at the Price Cutter Charity Championship.
