David has been a sports enthusiast for as long as he can remember. As a child, he used to place and win a lot of running races. He was active in baseball, basketball and golf as well. In 2003, David severely injured his left hand while performing his full-time job. He did not know it at the time, but that incident would forever change his life.
This injury led David through an extremely tough time where he experienced depression, extreme weight gain, gall bladder surgery, multiple heart surgeries and the death of a close friend. Through all of this hardship, he was able to discover his love for running.
