If you run slow, who cares?

Comparing yourself to others is hard not to do. We naturally look at others’ accomplishments and think, “I wish I could do that” or “That’s so much better than what I did.” When we start talking about competitions, this happens even more frequently. Athletes have it rough when it comes to positive thinking and celebrating themselves. There’s always someone out there who’s faster, stronger, or “more talented.”

You can’t tell someone to stop being sad and it magically happen. The same can be said for telling someone to start being positive. But there are several steps athletes can take to think more positively about themselves and in turn, perform better.
