Preparing for a race can physically take a lot out of you, but most athletes would argue it can take even more mentally. Whether you’re preparing for a 5K or a stage or a criterium, getting your mind right can help you accomplish whatever goal you’ve set out. Some tips we’ve received from our athletes include:
- Start a thinking pattern. Let one thought lead to the next. Example: The leaves are brown. Brown is my favorite color of pants. I wore those pants when I went to my favorite place to eat. And let that train of thought carry you until you push through.
- Surround yourself with motivating people
- Create a playlist and memorize the words
- Visit your local dealer for tips
