Honoring their sacrifice, educating their legacy: Swiftwick partners with Volition America

Volition America, the half marathon and 5K movement founded by Major Dan Rooney to benefit Folds of Honor, has named Swiftwick as the official sock sponsor for its nationwide series of events. These races will begin on Sept. 19, 2015, and will take place in participating cities in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Idaho and Illinois.

“Volition America is very excited about the addition of Swiftwick Socks to our list of amazing sponsors,” said Keith Hughes, senior vice president of the Volition Race Series. “Swiftwick’s specially engineered socks are leading the industry, and the fact that they are 100% made in the USA makes them a perfect partner. We are looking forward to exposing the runners competing in the races to this great company and its products.”

Volition America offers an event for all skill levels, including the 1.3K Mission March, 5K and half marathon. The series of events appeals not only to runners, but to everyone who appreciates those fighting for America’s freedom.

Volition America’s goal is simple: one million Americans joining together to fund the mission of Folds Honor, which helps provide educational scholarships to the children of military service members killed or disabled in the service of America—honoring their sacrifice and legacy by sending their children to college.

As part of the sponsorship, Swiftwick will provide their American Pride socks as prizes for the top age group finishers of the half marathon and 5K. Swiftwick has launched the American Pride sock to help athletes achieve their running goals while showing their love for the stars and stripes. This patriotic sock comes in a 5-inch cuff height and is the perfect sock to show patriotism all year long.

“We are indebted to the men and women who serve and also to the families who stand beside them,” said Chuck Smith, president of Swiftwick. “We are honored that our socks can support the Volition America Race Series and the children of those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
