Swiftwick, a leading athletic performance sock company, is excited to announce their sponsorship of National Ride for Reading Week. In addition to being a national corporate partner, Swiftwick employees will volunteer locally in the Nashville delivery to Fall Hamilton Elementary on May 9, 2016.
Ride for Reading promotes literacy and healthy living among kids living in low-income communities by delivering age-appropriate books via bicycle. With the support of volunteers and sponsors, Ride for Reading is celebrating its fourth annual National Ride for Reading Week.
Since their founding, Swiftwick has been a team of athletes serving athletes who are motivated and passionate about living active lifestyles. After years of informal support by employees for Ride for Reading, the company is excited to sign on as official partner for the 2016 National Ride for Reading Week and further promote the organization’s mission.
“It has been inspiring to watch Ride for Reading grow from its inception here in Nashville to a national organization,” said Chuck Smith, president of Swiftwick. “When you read the statistics and then see the response from the kids, you understand how important their mission is to the long term success of our communities. We are proud to partner with them.”
National Ride for Reading Week is an annual nationwide effort in which volunteer cyclists host book deliveries to schools in their communities. This year, with over 16 cities confirmed, Ride for Reading estimates that more than 35,000 books will be delivered. Delivery cities include Las Vegas, Nashville, Philadelphia, San Antonio and Montgomery.
Supporters have the opportunity to volunteer or donate online through the event’s website at www.rideforreading.org/nationalweek2016.
